Senator Writes Letter to Editor Regarding Nursing Shortage
Assistant Senate Majority Leader Dick Durbin wrote in a letter to the editor of the New York Times stating that the United States lures in thousands of health care professionals from developing countries, leaving these countries in need of health care professionals. The United States is turning down qualified applicants to nursing schools and the nursing shortage is over 100,000. He discusses how the United States needs to give our schools the resources they need and must also help health care in developing countries as well, stating we share a "hospital room around the world."
