Obama Pushing Electronic Systems in Hospitals
The Obama administration is pushing a movement for health care providers to receive sleek new electronic systems to replace their old paper records. They plan to implement systems that would give doctors and nurses instant access to patient records, which will increase efficiency and avoid errors for medical prescriptions and charting. With 90 percent of health care offices using the old paper record method, this is quite a task, and the new system is quite pricey - over $17 billion in stimulus dollars.
