Healthcare Reform Deadline Set for March 18
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs has set March 18 as the deadline for the final healthcare bill should be passed. That is the day Obama will be leaving for an Indonesia, Guam, and Australia trip. On Wednesday, Obama pushed Congress to "finish its work" on health care. Passage of the bill is far from certain and depends on a two-step legislative maneuver with the House approving the Senate's health care bill, and then both chambers would pass a follow-up bill.

According to an ABC News/Washington Post poll, 43 percent approve of the President's handling of health care, down from 57 percent in April 2009. Obama is staying committed to his healthcare plan and will continue his push this week with a trip to St. Louis on Wednesday.
