University of South Carolina Beaufort's Bluffton Campus is Four-Year Nursing Degree Certified
The University of South Carolina Beaufort's Bluffton campus has added a four-year nursing degree to help fill a need for highly educated nurses to handle the sickest patients. Applications for the program, which will start in spring 2009, will be available by mid-February. They expect to enroll 30 to 35 students for the core junior- and senior-level courses. Students are already taking the prerequisite courses for nursing, and Williams expects some who have completed the college's two-year nursing degree will also apply. The program is the first four-year nursing program in the county. Technical College of the Lowcountry offers a two-year associate degree in nursing and a practical-nursing diploma. USCB is one of 10 universities in the state to offer a baccalaureate degree in nursing.
