WCU Starts Online Master's Degree Program in Nurse Administration
Western Carolina University is starting a new online master's degree program in nurse administration thanks to a $825,000 federal grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The program, Leadership Education for Administration at a Distance, is designed to help nurses gain skills for management roles in health care facilities. The program begins this fall and is the first in North Carolina to offer a master's degree in nurse administration entirely online. Along with focusing on management skills, the LEAD program also includes an emphasis on preparing graduates to work with medically underserved populations and rural communities.
