Fayetteville State University's Nursing Program Suspended
Fayetteville State University's nursing program is suspended due to low test scores (they had the worst passing rate in NC), infighting, and a poor public perception. No new students will be admitted into the program; however, students entering their senior year at the nursing program will be allowed to graduate. The UNC system's policy states that a program with a passing rate below 75 percent for two consecutive years can be terminated. When two board of nursing evaluators visited the program, the teaching skills of the faculty were considered questionable. The evaluators also were told by a group of seniors at the school that some of the students were taken off campus once the news was out that the board evaluators were visiting.
