Long Island City's LaGuardia Community College New Resource Center Offers State-of-the-Art Equipment for Nursing Students
Long Island City's LaGuardia Community College recently cut the ribbon on its new resource center, the HIP/Centralized Laboratory Services Nursing Resource Center. The Center will offer 385 clinical nursing and registered nursing students state-of-the-art equipment, allowing optimal preparation for their state license examinations. The HIP/Centralized Laboratory Services Nursing Resource Center will also provide academic support for state licensing tests and internet access for software programs and computerized and video tutorials.

The center was possible by a $100,000 grant from HIP Health Plan/Centralized Laboratory Services. HIP is a large city-based HMO, which contracts with 160 hospitals and includes an estimated 43,000 doctors in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Centralized Laboratory Services is a city-based clinical diagnostic laboratory.
