UNC Head Works to Improve Fayetteville State University's Nurses
Fayetteville State University is working with Erskine Bowles, the president of the University of North Carolina system, to help its nursing program produce high-quality nurses. Although the changes are not immediate, they are definitely going to address the issue. Concerns were raised about the nursing program when FSU had 24 out of 31 students out of the program's first graduating class fail an exit exam. Because of this, they were unable to receive their degrees. The students claimed that FSU waited too late to tell them that the exam was a requirement. In the end, FSU agreed to let them graduate after taking a 12-day review course.
