Dominican Hospital Nurses Plan Strike
Having one of their longest negotiations ever over pay and benefits, the California Nurses Association announced a one-day strike at Dominican Hospital on Oct. 30 at 7 a.m. through Oct. 31 at 7 a.m. Dominican Hospital representatives state the nurses have unrealistic salary and benefit proposals - including a salary increase 6 percent per year over the life of a four year contract. Currently, an average full-time nurse at Catholic Healthcare West earns over $100,000/year. They would like to reach a fair settlement with the nurses as soon as possible.
