Computerized System Catches Unlicensed Nurse
An incident at Skaggs Medical Center in Branson, MO involving an unlicensed nurse working over the 90 days she was given to receive her license has now caused hospitals to publicize how to keep tabs on their employees. Skaggs Medical Center said it was discovered when they started their new computerized system that runs a report each month to inform human resources what is going to be due the next month. The new computerized system is a rigorous system in ensuring that the nurse is licensed and qualified. Hospitals also verify the license with the state board of nursing to make sure the proper license was indeed the license the nurse presented to them. The license verification also reports any disciplinary action or probation on the license.
