Teen Obesity May Lead to Multiple Sclerosis
A new study from the Harvard School of Public Health finds that teenage obesity makes women more likely to develop multiple sclerosis later in life. The study, which is published in the medical journal Neurology, involves 230,000 women that were tracked for forty years. Those that were obese at the age of 18 were twice as likely to develop MS, and researchers believe that it may be due to with vitamin D levels. Past research has indicated that high levels of vitamin D can reduce the risk of developing MS.
