Health Reform Bill
The Senate approved the health care bill last Thursday, many difficult issues must still be resolved in the final negotiations with the House. The hundred years' war over health insurance looks like it may be coming to an end, and most Americans would be required to obtain health insurance. Democrats are confident Obama will sign a bill into law in early 2010 that will prevent insurers from refusing coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. The vote last Thursday was 60-39.
