Vicks Nasal Spray Recalled
Procter & Gamble has recalled around 120,000 bottles of Vicks Sinex nasal spray due to possible bacterial contamination. There have been no reports of illness due to the contamination. The recalls are an extra precaution for consumer safety. There were three affective lots that were distributed throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany:
Lot # 9239028831 - United States - Vicks Sinex Vapospray 12-Hour Decongestant Ultra Fine Mist, 15 ml, Nasal Spray
Lot # 9224028832 - United Kingdom - Vicks Sinex Micromist Aqueous Nasal Spray Solution, 15 ml
Lot # 9224028833 - Germany - Wick Sinex Schnupfenspray Dosiersystem, 15 ml
You can find the lot number on the outer carton as well as the bottle. P&G offers to replace the product or to refund the cost of the product if you have an affected bottle. You can call (877) 876-7881.
If you are normally healthy, you should be fine even if you used the affected product. B. cepacia poses little risk to healthy people. Infection does pose a risk to people with weakened immune systems or those with lung disease. If you are concerned or have a weakened immune system or lung disease, you should see your healthcare provider.
