Slowdown in Green Cards Impacts Nursing Shortage
United States Congress is predicted to address whether to take measures that would provide over 60,000 additional visas for nurses and other allied health care workers in order to help with the nursing shortage. The current rate for processing permanent resident cards is lagging due to the overwhelming amount of applications versus green cards. As a result, hospitals are having to fill positions that were positions originally reserved for foreign-trained nurses.
