Northern Dutchess Hospital Offers Latest Ultrasound Technology
Northern Dutchess Hospital is pleased to announce it has acquired the newest generation of ultrasound technology for use in its radiology and diagnostic services department. With its state-of-the-art imaging platform, Siemens' Acuson S2000 features the world's first implementation of Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse (ARFI) imaging. While this advanced system performs a full range of advanced ultrasound imagery-including gall bladder, arterial, abdominal, and obstetric-it is particularly superior for breast imaging. The system meets the unique needs of breast imaging, with the capability for extremely high quality images to evaluate fine breast anatomy and pathology. Power Doppler imaging allows for enhanced evaluation of subtle breast vasculature, and a sophisticated software program enables technicians to define anatomical or pathological structures in 2D or 3D. Additionally, qualitative stiffness imaging enables mechanical tissue information to be displayed alongside conventional sonographic information.
