St. Vincent Struggles with Finances, Causing Possible Takeover
St. Vincent's Hospital seems to be struggling with their finances, and as a result, they could be looking at a possible takeover from a powerful nonprofit New York hospital system. The takeover would wipe out its surgical and inpatient units, which would cause a major dent in health care on the east side. For example, St. Vincent was the closest of all the hospital to the World Trade Center attack. As a main provider of health care on that side mixed with the uncontrollability of emergency care, the takeover would leave people in the area with a lack of care needed for the area.
